Tokyo back streets

Tokyo has temples: hundreds of them. Tokyo has the neon lit commercial canyons of Ginza and Shibuya. Tokyo has stunning modern architecture. Tokyo has parks and gardens. But what do I like best about Tokyo? I like exploring the winding warrens of back streets, full of shops and eating places and, of course drinking places. At night, dark, mysterious. An urban adventure zone.

Nice little restaurant. Park you bike outside.

Sit outside. Eat noodles. Drink beer. Happy.

Tiny restaurant. Only half a dozen seats. Old lady serves you sake and cooks.

Another neighbourhood eating joint. Cheap. Simple. No pretensions.
